This famous square is located in the cultural centre of Madrid and is renowned as the site of many significant events in Spanish history. Here, we have carried out rehabilitation work on the infrastructure related to power supply, street lighting and telephony, drainage of rain water, renovation of the approaches to buildings in the zone and replacement of existing paving on roads and pavements to the same level with cordoned pedestrian areas delineated by rows of bollards. The aesthetic appeal of the square was enhanced by planting of a variety of tree species and new street furniture.
